Grade Report Legends - Lassonde School of Engineering

Grades

F NGR (No Grade Reported) - A grade of F with a qualifier of NGR (No Grade Reported) indicates that the instructor did not report a grade. Contact the appropriate department immediately for follow-up.

NCR (No Credit Retained) - The course does not count towards satisfaction of academic degree or certificate credit requirements and is not included in grade point averages (major, cumulative, sessional and overall).

Decisions

May Proceed Only in an Ordinary Program - Students who do not earn the minimum grade point average required to proceed in an Honours degree for their particular major (see the honours progression chart below for the minimum GPA required) will automatically be put in a bachelor program in the same or first major if in a double major. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Academic Warning - If your cumulative overall grade point average falls below 4.00 (C) at the end of any session or if you enter the Faculty with a grade point average equivalent to less than 4.00 (C) you will receive an academic warning. You will need to meet certain academic conditions within the next session or risk being required to withdraw from the University. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Debarment Warning - Alerts you to the fact that should you fail additional credits in a future session or fail to raise your overall GPA you will be asked to leave the University for a period of two years and will be required to reapply to the University should you wish to return. Please refer to the Undergraduate Calendar for more detailed information. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Required to Withdraw - Student who have a cumulative grade point average below 2.50 with at least 24 York credits or who fail to meet the Academic Warning Conditions must withdraw for 12 months. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Exit BASc, OCGPA. Apply BSc. - Students who fail to meet the minimum cumulative grade point average for the Engineering program (see the honours progression chart below for the minimum GPA required) will be exited from the program and enrolment will be blocked until they change their program. Must Choose Major Other Than Digital Media or Space Science - Students who fail to earn the minimum grade point average required for the honors programs (see the honours progression chart below for the minimum GPA required) may continue in an ordinary (non-honours) BSc degree program but will have to change their major. Enrolment will be blocked until the student completes a Program Change Request. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Advising Required -This indicates that a student is blocked from enrolling in courses in the upcoming session. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Limited Credits Allowed - Students in a 90-credit bachelor program who do not meet the minimum GPA required for graduation (4.00) may take up to 102 credits in order to raise their GPA. Once the student has completed 102 credits, he/she will automatically be blocked from further enrolment. Book an appointment with a Lassonde academic adviser immediately.

Note: Students are required to have an overall GPA of 4.00 to graduate with a bachelors degree and an overall GPA of 5.00 to graduate with an Honours bachelor degree.
